What is all the hype about Send out cards is this a mail stuffing job from home?

That is what I thought when I first heard the name but it is far from that.

I’m going to cover the critical areas that have great determination of your success in a home business opportunity.

1. Summary of the opportunity
2. Does the product have real value and will it sell?
3. Management of the Company
4. Does it have a good compensation plan
5. Do they have a sound marketing system
6. What is the vision beyond the money and the product?  The Why.

Sendoutcards Summary

Send out cards is unique in many ways.  It is the only greeting card company in Network Marketing, it not another juice company, it’s product is something most of us all buy regularly anyway, and it makes our purchases cheaper, less stressful, and more convenient.  The Sendoutcards company does just that they send out cards, mainly greeting cards to be more specific.  After you set up an account you have the ability to pick through nearly 12,000 greeting cards and post cards to send to people for all occasions.  You will go to your contact manager included with your account and choose the person you wish to send a card to and pick the card to send to them.  There are options to add pictures and your own handwriting for additional fees.  After you have chosen the card and options etc. you click to send Sendoutcards stuffs the envelope with the card addresses it, applies a stamp, and mails it all for about a dollar and without leaving your house.   You can get involved as a retail customer, wholesale customer, or as distributor.

Does this product and service have real value?

This is definitely an idea who’s time has come.  There are 2 main players in the greeting card business the make up most of the market which is a retail setting.  The value comes in many ways:

1. They allow people to purchase and send cards without leaving their homes, with this concept they are actually growing the market not just taking market share.
2. Greeting cards generally cost about $4 and Send out cards is $1 or so.
3. The contact manager keeps your recipients information which reminds you of special occasions and stores their information which saves time by not having to write or look up their information.
4. Their research has shown that most people send out 10 cards a year but would send out more if it weren’t for convenience and forgetfulness.  They didn’t say this but I’m sure money figures in that also.
5. They have post cards, custom cards, and will send one of many gifts along with your card.

I am not involved with this company but am seriously considering looking at it as a customer.  Guys aren’t usually into cards but saving time, money, and not having to go to the card store, “I like it”.

Sendoutcards Management and Financials

One thing that is always important with any company you are interested in working with it’s management and financials.  The company is run by it’s founder Kody  Bateman which started from an idea 20 years earlier which came to fruition in 2004.  The idea was spawned by a personal tragedy in Kody’s life where he didn’t want to ever miss out on an opportunity to make someone’s day for others to act on their desires to express themselves.  He has a passion for the business and mission of his company which is to change people’s lives for good one simple card at a time.  The company has grown to over $60 million in sales in 2009 and increased card sales by 25% over 2008 and 40% increase in gift sales.

The Compensation Plan

There are 5 different ways you can earn income

1. Retail profits from customers (paid monthly)
2. Coaching bonuses from wholesale customers (paid weekly)
3. Coaching bonuses from new distributors (paid weekly)
4. Volume bonuses paid on greeting cards sold (paid monthly)
5. Leadership volume bonuses (paid monthly)

and there are 5 promotional levels to achieve which can pay downline 7 levels and below.  There is definitely the potential to earn a 6 figure income with the right marketing.

The Marketing System

The marketing system revolves around sending post cards to friends and family which is a great way to promote the product by using it.  This is great product for word of mouth advertising.  But like any Network Marketing and Direct Sales company the people are buying you first not the company.

The Why

This company is definitely about more than making money and selling cards.  From the President down it is about making a positive difference in people’s lives.  This happens through the cards and their community.

Final thoughts

If you are thinking about joining Send out Cards or confirming your decision it definitely looks like the right time and place for this company.  It looks like all the necessary ingredients are there for someone to be successful.
